This is my second attempt at doing a blog for the Star Wars Expanded Universe (EU). My first attempt was to go through each Comic, novel (adult and some/most young adult novels), video game, short stories (that I could obtain and easily place) and movie in chronological order. I think I got as far the Tales of the Jedi Series, or maybe the KOTOR comics series before I gave up. Keeping the stories in order, and analyzing them just got to be a burden with all of the tangled continuity. I still continued reading, but had stopped blogging. Then of course, they had to come out with the new Old Republic game and novels, throwing a huge wrench into my plans.
Since I'm not that huge of the OR, because, to me at least, it looks a lot like repackaged Rebel era and prequel era stuff mixed together with a large amount of lightsabers thrown in; I decided to narrow my focus for now. This blog, for now, will attempt to go through as many of the EU stories as possible, starting with the stuff going on pre-Phantom Menace. I will also come in with other stuff periodically as I see fit and I hope you enjoy it. I will also do the movies (not the novelizations of the movies) when they come up in the timeline.
One last thing I'd like to try, is forming my own Star Wars canon. After all, if Lucas and Filoni along with anyone else can contradict published comics and novels when they feel like it (Ie, Asajj Ventress) I think we fans should have the right to cut out stories or change facts that we don't like and go with what we liked better.
For instance, Greedo shot first.
